Hey there! Welcome to my website!

My name is Kar Yung Tom (KYT) and I am a strategy game enthusiast. Here are some quick highlights to get a rapid feel for my gaming background:

  • Chess: I was ranked top 10 in Quebec until I quit competitive play at the age of 17.
  • Magic: The Gathering: I qualified for and competed in 2 Pro Tours.
  • Poker: I played online cash games (100NL 6-Max) semi-professionally.
  • Daily Fantasy Sports: I won major contests in NBA and NFL on FanDuel with my own computer models. My total earnings are over the 6-figure mark.

I graduated in Software Engineering at McGill University, so whenever code can be used to optimize a process, you can bet that I’m ready for it!

I started a YouTube channel called Canadian Finance Simplified because I wanted to chronicle how someone with my experience and passion for analytics would attack investing.

I’m always excited to learn new strategies and share my insights with fellow enthusiasts.

HEQT vs XEQT vs VEQT: A Deep Dive into Global X's All-in-One ETF

June 17, 2024 6:31 pm

Hey everyone, in today's video, I'm diving into the Fidelity All-in-One ETF, FQT. This ETF stands out from the usual offerings from Vanguard, iShares, and BMO by integrating equity factors and even Bitcoin exposure. I'll walk you through its features, why some investors on Blossom are making the switch, and whether it might be a good fit for your portfolio.

We'll also explore the underlying holdings, its diversification approach, and compare its performance to other all-in-ones like XEQT. Plus, I'll share my thoughts on its crypto allocation and why, despite its recent outperformance, I still prefer a more traditional all-equity approach. Let's get into it!
